This tour is for those with limited time but want to see as much of Yellowstone as possible. It starts in Salt Lake City at 10 am and includes two nights’ hotel stay, a full lower loop tour and the shuttle to and from Salt Lake City. You have multiple options for the departure after your second night, enabling you to be back in Salt Lake as early as 6:40 AM on day three.
Your tour starts at either a central downtown Salt Lake location, or at the Salt Lake airport, from where will travel by shuttle, making several stops along the way, to West Yellowstone. Please remember that the driver is not a guide and this is an unescorted leg of your tour. You will be dropped off at West Yellowstone Lodge to check-in and then are free to wander West Yellowstone taking advantage of all the stores, the IMAX theater, and the Grizzly And Wolf Discovery Center where you are guaranteed to see grizzly bears, wolves and otters!
On day two you’ll do the lower loop tour, offering guided investigation of the most geothermal areas of Yellowstone, while still providing great wildlife viewing opportunities along the rivers and in Hayden Valley. You will take the time to watch Old Faithful erupt, explore the historic Old Faithful Inn and wander the boardwalks of the Lower, Midway and Upper Geyser basins checking out all four kinds of thermal features present in the park. You will then go to West Thumb on Yellowstone Lake, up through Hayden Valley and on to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone where you will stop at both the Upper and Lower Yellowstone Falls before returning to West Yellowstone. On most days, you will then be free to wander town briefly until your shuttle picks you up at 6pm to take you to your hotel in East Idaho.
In the morning you will catch the shuttle back to Salt Lake City. It will pick you up at your hotel, make several stops along the way, and drop you off either at a central downtown location near Temple Square or at the Salt Lake City Airport. Tour Notes
We regret that cancellations and changes will not be accepted, and refunds will not be given. Half the amount may be charged to your card when you make the booking, and the balance will be charged 45 days from the tour date. An attempted or purported cancellation will result in the entire amount being charged to your card immediately.
The credit/debit card you used must be with you when you travel, and should be in your name. If you are booking for someone else, please let us know as you will need to complete the credit card authorization documentation, which we will send you.
A shuttle will transport you between Salt Lake and West Yellowstone, making several stops along the way. The departure and drop off locations are the Salt Lake City airport and a central Salt Lake downtown location.
This is a small group tour, with the possible exception of the shuttle between Salt Lake and east Idaho, where a bus may be used.
Parts of this tour may be provided by other vendors we use.
Times are approximate. The itinerary may change without notice, and we cannot be responsible for the consequences of delays. At the beginning and end, of the season, road closures and weather conditions may prevent this tour being run as detailed. General road maintenance in the park may affect the way this tour operates.
One night’s lodging is included at West Yellowstone Lodge or similar, and one night at the Rexburg Americinn or similar.
