Giving you a guided in-park Yellowstone experience on all three days, plus Grand Teton National Park, this is an awesome Yellowstone tour from Denver!

The tour starts at the Denver airport, from where you will fly into a small airport in western Wyoming.  Your guide will pick you up at the airport, and take you on a tour of the majestic Grand Teton National Park, enjoying amazing sights of the Teton mountain range, pristine lakes, and with luck, even a moose or bear! There will be frequent stops to admire the views, and take photos. A sack lunch is provided today.

From Grand Teton, you will head for the south entrance of Yellowstone. There will once again be stops along the way, with the highlight being West Thumb Geyser Basin, along Yellowstone Lake, the largest alpine lake in North America, where you will walk the boardwalk. From there it is a casual drive to West Yellowstone, crossing over the Continental Divide twice, making a few additional stops along the way.

That evening we will take you to your lodging at Yellowstone Motel, where you will be staying for the next two nights. After check-in, you are free to take advantage of all the stores, the IMAX theater, and the Grizzly And Wolf Discovery Center where you are guaranteed to see grizzly bears, wolves and otters!

On the second day you will get to experience the full Yellowstone upper loop tour, which includes a guide offering insights on the geology, latest park updates and ecological studies. You will experience waterfalls, walks around geothermal features, take in the historic park headquarters, and wildlife viewing in the Lamar Valley – often called “America’s Serengeti” – due to the abundance of wildlife such as bison, pronghorns, elk, and depending on the season and time of day, bears or even wolves. A sack lunch is provided again today.  Please view the entire upper loop itinerary.

Day three sees you going back onto Yellowstone’s lower loop. You will spend roughly five hours on a guided tour of the most famous geysers and hot springs on this Yellowstone lower loop tour, as well as keeping an eye out for some of the park’s iconic animals – bison, elk, osprey, bears, and more. The tour covers the Lower, Midway and Upper Geyser Basins including Old Faithful, as well as some of the less well known geyser basins.

You can enjoy your sack lunch while watching Old Faithful erupt, explore the historic Old Faithful Inn and wander the boardwalks of the various basins, checking out all four kinds of thermal features present in the park.

We’ll then leave the park, and you’ll start on your way through scenic rural Idaho, and back to Salt Lake. before you make your way to Rexburg, and on to Salt Lake City, where your tour ends.

The tour ends either at the Salt Lake City airport, or downtown Salt Lake, opposite Temple Square. If you prefer, we can get you a flight back to Denver, at an additional charge.  Depending on how far ahead you book, and the day on which you’re flying, the cost of the flight starts at about $75.00.

Tour Notes

We regret that cancellations and changes will not be accepted, and refunds will not be given. Half the amount may be charged to your card when you make the booking, and the balance will be charged 45 days from the tour date. An attempted or purported cancellation will result in the entire amount being charged to your card immediately.

This tour starts at the Denver airport. On the way back from Yellowstone to Salt Lake, if there are six or fewer people on the tour, a shuttle may transport you between east Idaho and Salt Lake.  If this happens, the end location will be the Salt Lake City airport and a central Salt Lake downtown location. If there are more than six people, a dedicated guide and vehicle will transport you all the way back to downtown Salt Lake, where the tour ends.  We can assist you with getting a flight back to Denver, if you prefer, at an additional cost.

This is a small group tour, with the possible exception of the shuttle between east Idaho and Salt Lake, where a bus may be used. The shuttle may make several stops on the way.

Parts of this tour may be provided by other vendors we use.

Times are approximate. The itinerary may change without notice, and we cannot be responsible for the consequences of delays.  At the beginning and end, of the season, road closures and weather conditions may prevent this tour being run as detailed. In particular, the road from Old Faithful to Grand Teton generally opens in mid-May. General road maintenance in the park may affect the way this tour operates.

Two nights’ lodging are included at Yellowstone Motel, or similar, in West Yellowstone.

Please do not make any plans that depend on this tour, until you receive our confirmation email.

This tour has a two person minimum for most of the season, and four people in the quiet times.

The entrance fees to the park are included.

Three picnic or sack lunches are the only meals included.

If you leave it too late to book, this tour may cost more as a result of higher flight prices. We will always advise you beforehand, and see if you still want to continue.

Depending on the time of the year, there may be a wait of about half an hour when you land at the west Wyoming airport, from baggage retrieval until our guide picks you up.

There will almost certainly be a checked luggage fee on the flight, which you will need to pay.
